One thing you immediately notice as you approach Pearl, is our raised 2nd floor, L-shaped deck that parallels Commercial St., and Kendrick Ave. The designers wanted Pearl’s outside to be similar to the inside. Open, visible, and with limited visual interruptions. The deck is the higest point in the Harbor, and has some of the most amazing waterfront views there or anywhere on the Cape.
From the Commercial St. side, you can look back up towards the town of Wellfleet. Right across the street are the Wellfleet Harbor Cottages, and the town marina and landing. Walk the deck around to the Kendrick Ave side, and extend the view across Mayo Beach, and all the way along the Wellfleet coast to Great Island. Everywhere you look there is color, light, and activity.

The raw bar at Pearl can be found on our rear deck which borders on the beautiful marshland along Commercial St. This raw bar is an interesting re-purpose of the actual transom of an old wooden boat. It was fully refinished to a rich brown color, and has a decorative brass cap and houses the entire raw bar behind the structure. Pearl’s rear deck is a great place for dinner or have cocktails, with easy access to the raw bar.
And on week-ends from 3-5pm we host oour Fresh Music – Live Seafood Happy Hours Event. With Live Music from some of Cape Cod’s finest musicians, and Special Prices on Lobster, Oysters, and Little Necks, whether you order them at the bar or directly from the raw bar itself. Our scheduled events for 2011 are finished, but we will be continuing this fun event next year. Check out our News Page for info.

Pearl invites you to come in this weekend on Saturday or Sunday Sept 17th & 18th from 3-5pm. This will be our last scheduled Fresh Music – Live Seafood Happy Hours event. One last chance to enjoy the sights and sounds of Wellfleet Harbor, eat fresh delicious food, and hear performances by some of Cape Cod’s best musical acts.
We would like to thank all of the great acts that livened up our rear deck all Summer and Fall. We had great music by Greg Johnson, Bob Peck, Billy Hardy, Asa Nadeau, Sarah Swain, Jeff Conley, and Jodi Birchall. Pearl is happy to have provided great musicians from the Cape Cod area with a new venue. Wait til’ next year.

The first thing you may notice when you drive or walk or bike down Commercial St. into Wellfleet Harbor, is Pearl’s fantastic welcome sign made by local Cape Cod artist Steve Swain. The sign is made from cut mild steel combined with a hand blown Sandwich Glass globe. The work is housed in a sturdy wooden post frame with a corrugated peaked roof that matches Pearl’s own. When you see it at night, it glows with light provided by solar panels. Steve Swain is a very talented metal sculptor.
He worked for years in Centerville Cape Cod, and recently relocated to Harwich. In addition to this great sign, all the signage and decorative metal throughout our restaurant is by Steve. We have two large single letter signs on each side of our roof, dramatic horseshoe crab wall sconces, baitball lighted globes at the bar, and incredible square cone hanging lights in front of the kitchen. Check out more by Steve at his gallery The Frying Pan Right Next Door !

Pearl’s kitchen is a thing of beauty from any angle. It is where modern meets antique, where steel meets pine, and where sizzle meets the ceiling. Our kitchen is the heart of our restaurant. Constructed of re-purposed pine panels, and topped with black and white checkerboard tiling under inverted square cone lights by Steve Swain. All under one, very old roof.
Look up over the kitchen and you will see the steeply pitched old roof of the famous Spit and Chatter Club. This structure was unearthed during construction, and was carefully preserved by the designers. It a major part of why Pearl feels so open and airy, and shows that modern design and old style Cape Cod charm can live together happily.

Pearl’s interior over the past Labor Day Weekend. This photo is a view from the rear entrance looking forward. You can see the dining areas to the left, bar area seating on your right, and the kitchen is central in the background. The weather was great and that, plus a holiday week end, equals lots of diners. Pearl’s spacious and open floor plan allows good sized crowd to enjoy our restaurant without ever feeling crowded.
Open and visible is part of the reason why dinner at Pearl is such a great experience. You can see your foods journey from grill all the way to your table. Look across towards the bar area, or out our convertible windows to our back deck. And, most of the interior tables have great views across Commercial St. of the boat pier, and the interior of Wellfleet Harbor. Come to Pearl and sea for yourself.

You can get a great view of our restaurant from just across the corner of Commercial St & Kendrick Ave. From the very beginning, from the preliminary design stage, Pearl was built to blend into the picturesque surroundings of Wellfleet Harbor. While the amenities inside are state of the art and modern, the exterior is classic Cape Cod. Every year, Pearl blends into the scenery more and more. 2011 is our 3rd season.
Mother nature has turned all of the exposed pine to that familiar Cape silvery grey. This photo was taken on Labor Day Week End on Sat. As you can see the joint was jumping. Outside and in, happy diners enjoyed the sights and sounds of old Cape Cod in Wellfleet, while enjoying some of the freshest food around. Our last week-end of our Fresh Music Happy Hours was a big hit too.
